The Educational Development Project Implementing Task Force (EDPITAF) assists the Department of Education (DepEd) vigorously in providing access to quality ad relevant education, achieve equitable distribution of educational services or resources, and develop a just, humane and progressive society.

On September 29, 1972, by the virtue of Presidential Decree 6-A (Amended by PD 1235), called for the creation of an ad-hoc project implementing until under the office of the Secretary and the unit was called EDPITAF. And by the virtue of Executive Order No. 117 in January 1987 reaffirmed the continued existence of EDPITAF in the reorganized Department of Education, Culture and Sports.



EDPITAF aims to deliver quality basic education through the implementation and management of foreign assisted projects, that may include all or any of the following components:

  • Curriculum upgrading
  • Construction of academic classrooms/ school buildings
  • Provision of necessary textbooks and resource materials
  • Training of teachers and administrators, principals, DepED staff and officers; and
  • Provision of equipment and furniture.


  • Educational Facilities Improvement Project
    • Number of school sites
    • No. of classrooms with furniture
    • No. of laboratory rooms with basic science equipment
  • Philippines-Australia Project in Basic Education
    • No. of recipient elementary schools


  • To supervise and implement foreign-assisted development projects in coordination with concerned DepEd bureaus, offices and various institutions/schools.
  • To implement such other development projects as maybe assigned by the Secretary of DepEd.
